History & Provenance

Abernant
Discovered unused at auction in the 1960s, the Abernant heritage wallpaper is one of Allyson's studio favourites.
As a conservator, she was thrilled to unwrap the unusually vibrant examples and find the gorgeous original blue paper preserved. She has skilfully updated it with a range of coloured grounds which reflect historical pigments in use at the time and simultaneously bring a fresh, contemporary feel. It has also been resized slightly to give homeowners and designers a little more flexibility.
The original is now carefully housed in Allyson's extensive archive at her studio on the fringes of the English Lake District.
